Challenges…
Adapting to the changes that come with growth
Over the last few years, Tedaisy Insurance Group has grown from 20 people, to a team of 60 across several offices on different sites around the UK.
While growth is an exciting stage for any business it often comes with a few challenges.
“We’ve brought in lots of new businesses to the group, and new people to bring into the culture. So the teething problems with rapid growth started coming in fast,” says Grace. “It’s hard for everyone to know everyone across four offices, let alone understand their role.”
Moving away from manual HR
Having forms to do with everything, everywhere, made it hard to have visibility across all the business functions to keep up with what was happening.
One of the biggest challenges for some line managers at Tedaisy Insurance Group was the manual HR process that used to be in place. It meant that time was often wasted trying to find the correct spreadsheet, remembering passwords to different platforms and figuring out which forms and papers go with what.
“Our poor line managers don’t want spreadsheets everywhere on top of forms and paper to handle,” says Grace. “I was looking for automated processes, and the ability to get all of it in one place so it’s nice, simple and easy for managers and their teams to use.”
Keeping up with who is located in which office was challenging
At Tedaisy Group Insurance, exponential growth was an exciting period. But it also meant that it was getting harder to keep up with who was based in which office, and make sure the incredible people behind the good work going on across the business got that well deserved recognition and praise.
“One of my priorities, apart from the functionality of the system, was the culture piece,” Grace recalls. “I really wanted to be able to have a place where everyone could easily see who worked on what that day, and see what’s going on across the business.”
